"We had a wonderful stay. The cottage was a great location as we skied at Hidden Valley. It was quite a distance to Huntsville and was located a residential area. I managed to walk our dog on the cottage road and it was a peaceful place to stay. The expansive view from the cottage is its best feature. All in all a great winter holiday stay!.”

The cottage is amazing, everything as promised and more. An excellent winter hideaway with easy access to hiking and snowshoeing trails. Fully equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare family meals. Spectacular views. Beautifully decorated and maintained. Plenty of parking. Terri provided lots of useful information including Sandhill Nursery's Forest of Light, and her snow removal was timely and top-notch :). We hope to return next winter!.”
“We are a family of four and so this was the perfect set up for us with both our teenage children getting a bedroom. The instructions were very clear and the kitchen is well organized with everything you might need. We also found the downstairs living area the perfect place to watch a movie at night. Beautiful surroundings and I can only imagine that in the summer, the location by the lake makes this property even more of a top destination. I hope we can return to test that out.”

My grandparents and great-grandparents built cottages side by side on a little lake outside of Huntsville in 1951.
My sisters and I grew up all summer every summer running barefoot between the two cottages, with no phone, no tv, but thankfully electricity, running water and one tank full of gas allowed per week for the ski boat. We learned how to canoe, boat, waterski and fish, how to keep our evening lights to a minimum to be able to see the stars, to enjoy a bonfire, work hard, and to respect the land and water. Sustainability was built into our experience from the start.
Cottaging has changed significantly over the decades but the feeling for those returning to Muskoka or visiting it for the first time, should be the same, a rich experience with people you enjoy in a comfortable space in the wilderness. For owners, whether you’re a new cottage owner or decades in, you’ve invested a lot of heart and soul into your space; offering it to vacationing guests is a great way to share everything Muskoka has to offer.
