Explore the diversity the lake has to offer in the 2-person kayak. From shallow, sandy shorelines to towering cliffs and deep Oxbow Lake offers so much for a small lake, in summer and winter months. Bringing your own motorboat? No problem. The free public boat launch is nearby and you can moor safely at the cottage dock. There’s a water trampoline and excellent swimming and splashing in the shallows in clean, clear water. After dinner consider situating your family on the dock’s Muskoka chairs to view the sunset and, if you’re lucky, see some fireflies and shooting stars. The landscaped bonfire area is equipped with Muskoka chairs for your ghost stories, campfire songs and s’mores around the fire and beside the lake.

Bedrooms

Three generously-sized bedrooms all with queen beds.

The main floor master bedroom has a queen-sized bed.

Bedrooms 2 and 3 feature queen beds. One of which has a full lake view.

Living Area

The spaces in this cottage are specifically designed to offer a perfect blend of the ability to feel fully separate for conversation while also open concept for the feeling of warmth and togetherness. The main floor has a living area with oversized super-comfy seating on one side, while the other side of the Great Room offers an intimate fireside nook with lush chairs and a gas fireplace. All of this is part of the open-concept main floor which flows between the living, kitchen, and dining areas; all in full view of the lake. 

The lower level of the cottage is also a spacious area, with full windows and walkout to the patio and lake from a family gathering area that includes an oversized sectional couch with a high-definition smart tv, games/crafting table, floor space that is the perfect spot for morning yoga or workout.

Bathrooms

Main Level Full Sized Bathroom with a walk-in shower ensuite, with entrances at either end for convenient access from the bedroom and the living area.

Lower Level Full Sized Bathroom with a tub and shower is located between the bedrooms with access to the large living area. 

Lake Use

Oxbow Lake is a medium-sized, spring-fed lake that has hosted cottages for generations. With a nice blend of cottages and crown land, it gives guests lots of options for activity. Clear, clean swimming water, good fishing, safe and interesting paddling and boating. There are steep cliffs, shallow sandy spots and lots to explore.

Oxbow lake is located between the bustling town of Huntsville and Algonquin Park, just off of Limberlost Road. It’s right on one of the main snowmobile and ATV routes and is a 10 minute drive from the hidden gem, Limberlost Wildlife Reserve.
