Fat Chickadee Offers...

The Space

The driveway into the cottage is over 200 metres long, winding down a forested hill from the road into a private valley that is a combination of rolling hills, gardens, trees and some ponds further back on the property. There’s an outdoor fire pit for bonfires and an indoor wood-burning fireplace for chilly evenings and mornings. We supply a reasonable amount of wood for both indoor and outdoor fires.

No neighbours are visible from the cottage so you’ll be able to enjoy a fully immersive private experience. Enjoy the 4-person soft-sided hot tub or take some time for yourself in the cedar sauna. The cottage is best suited to accommodate 4 adults or a small family. The layout of the home is all on one level, although there are two steps from the outside to get into the home.

Guest Access

You’ll have the use of the 3 bedroom home, the sauna, hot tub, both decks with outdoor dining, gazebo and sun-shaded pergola, bonfire area, grounds and 44 acres of forest and fields for exploring.

Cooking

The kitchen is fully equipped and has a gas oven and stovetop. Prefer to BBQ? You’ll find a double BBQ right outside the patio doors, one side is propane fired and the other is charcoal. Enjoy your meals in the kitchen at the cafe table with a garden view, or in the large Muskoka room at the full dining table, or out on the second deck under the dining tent with views of the property.

Living Area

The living room is the centre of the cottage, featuring an airtight fireplace for your use, very comfortable seating and a large screen tv. It opens up into the Muskoka room which has a full sized, electronic piano, full dining table, games, books and a full view of the property.

Bathroom

There is a full bathroom with a tub/shower. There’s also a private outhouse outside for emergencies!

Wildlife

The acreage this cottage sits on is largely forested, with part of it being grassy field, and in between there is a series of creek-fed small ponds. This environment makes it welcoming to many different types of wildlife. There’s a beaver dam right on the property, with the beaver’s lodge located on another of the ponds. You may see moose (look for the tracks on a hike), deer, wolves, foxes, rabbits and numerous types of squirrels, chipmunks and birds.

Bracebridge, Ontario

Our neighbourhood is a rural road which, while being 5 minutes from the town of Bracebridge, offers a private, quiet, truly Muskoka experience. Though you’re close to everything, you are genuinely right in the wilderness.

There is a public bus system locally but in order to get into the closest town of Bracebridge, or the nearby towns of Gravenhurst, Huntsville, Port Sydney and Baysville you’ll need a vehicle of your own.
